About me

German/American violinist and violist, Jana Kaminsky, is currently based in Orlando, Florida and regularly works in North/South Carolina and Georgia. Kaminsky has been a member of the Greenville Symphony since winning their audition in 2024, and regularly subs with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Asheville Symphony Orchestra, Florida Orchestra, Palm Beach Symphony, and the Venice Symphony Orchestra. Previously, Kaminsky subbed with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, Quebec Opera, Evansville Philharmonic, and the Carmel Symphony Orchestra, and won positions with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, and Columbus Indiana Philharmonic.

Alongside her orchestra career, Kaminsky has been featured as the Violist of the Silver Bay String Quartet in their 2025 season in upstate New York, as a violinist in a string quartet for the 2024 Bethlehem Music Festival, and since 2022, has run her own full-time hybrid-style violin studio (online and in-person) with three recitals a year, previously through online Chicago based violin school, Trala, and now through online music school, Tunelark. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in violin performance at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in Montreal, Canada, and afterwards, completed a Performance Diploma at Indiana University, the Jacobs School of Music. Her mentors include Violaine Melancon, Axel Strauss, Mark Holloway and Mark Kaplan. Kaminsky plays on a 2023 violin by Bulgarian violin maker, Vlado Tilev.
